When to go to Indochina
For Hanoi the summer months from May to October can be quite hot with regular downpours. Winter from November to April is cooler and drier and a better time to visit. Saigon is particularly hot during March to May, with the wet season from May to November. December to March is considered the best time to visit Saigon and the beaches of Central Vietnam. For Angkor Wat and Cambodia, November to February is ideal with cooler and drier weather. May to October sees brief showers and high humidity. October to March is the best time to visit Luang Prabang in Laos, when the weather is cooler and drier than at other times.
November to February is Hanoi’s driest and therefore best time to visit. March to October is hotter, with more rainfall and high humidity. Hanoi is generally warm to hot, though in winter it can reach a low of just 13°C.

Hoi An & Hue
Vietnam is generally hot and humid during May to October with rainfall. November to April are drier months but can be cool especially in the north. Temperatures during May to October tend to average around 24°C- 33°C in the north, 23°C-25°C in central Vietnam and 24°C-31°C in the south. November to April sees the north and central averaging 16°C- 23°C with the south 22°C-33°C.

The driest period of the year for Saigon tends to be December through to March. The rainy season is usually May to October and tropical storms do occur. Saigon is hot and humid all year round with an average temperature of between 31°C and 35°C
Angkor Wat
The driest and coolest period is generally from November to March. May through to October sees high humidity and frequent, butoften brief showers. However the busiest period for visitors is during the dry and cool period so you can expect crowds at the temples.

Luang Prabang
The dry season for Luang Prabang is from November through to April. The rainy season is generally from May to October. The annual average temperature is 24°C-25°C, with high humidity. The hottest period is around March to May when temperatures can soar to 37°C, the coldest and wettest month is usually August when temperatures can drop to 15°C
