Your Passport & Visa requirements

For Thailand, Malaysia, and Japan British passport holders do not require a visa for these destinations, unless staying for more than 30 days.

Laos British passport holders must obtain the visa on arrival. This can be done at both Vientiane and Luang Prabang Airports as well as the main border crossings. A tourist visa will be valid for 30 days and costs US$35. Two passport-sized photographs are also required.

Vietnam British Citizen passport holders making a single entry into Vietnam for up to 15 days (for all purposes) are exempt from requiring a visa to travel. The visa exemption period will start from 1 July 2017 and end on 30 June 2018. To qualify for this exemption your passport must have a minimum of 6 months validity left and you must hold proof of onward or return flights. Those travelling to Vietnam for stays of more than 15 days or for multiple entries will still require a visa to enter. Please contact the Visa Travel Company for the very latest information.

Cambodia British passport holders require a visa to visit Cambodia, which can be obtained on arrival or before you travel. Visas take 5 working days to issue in Embassy, cst £25 and the Travel Visa Company service charge is £35. You can apply for a Cambodian visa up to 3 months before you travel. Once issued, the visa is valid for 3 months with a maximum stay in the country of 30 days. Please allow 10-15 working days total processing time.

China British passport holders require a visa to visit China and a visa must be obtained before you depart the UK. Visas take 4 working days to issue in the Embassy. Standard visas cost £96 and The Travel Visa Company charge is £32. You can apply for a China visa up to 3 months before you travel. Once issued the visa is valid for 3 months with a maximum stay in the country of 30 days. Please allow 10-15 working days total processing time.

Burma British passport holders require a visa to visit Burma and a visa must be obtained before you depart the UK. It can be arranged up to 3 months before your scheduled arrival date into Burma. A full passport is required, valid for 6 months beyond the date of your departure from Burma. Once issued, the visa is valid for 3 months with a maximum stay of 28 days in the country. A visa is £14, with The Travel Visa Company service charge an additional £46.50.

Important to note Please ensure your passport has at least six months validity remaining from the return date of your trip. Embassy fees can vary, depending on the type and validity of the visa requested. All service charges quoted are excluding VAT and correct at the time of publishing.
