Guide to Pattaya & Hotels
Pattaya is situated 92 miles southeast of Bangkok, facing the Thai Gulf. Visitors can experience all of the attractions of a seaside resort, with great entertainment, fantastic golf courses, excellent watersports, plus the added allure of nearby coral islands. Often referred to as the ‘Thai Riviera’ it is considered to be the most cosmopolitan place in Thailand after Bangkok. |
Travel
Most visitors to Pattaya will arrive via Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport, just a 90-minute drive. Alternatively the journey from the centre of Bangkok is around two hours on good, wide roads. We can pre-book your private car transfer so that you are met on arrival in Bangkok and taken directly to your hotel in Pattaya, from £28 per person.
Attractions
Pattaya is rightly famous for its beaches. The main Pattaya beach is over two miles long, bordered by a treelined promenade. This is the departure point for trips to the nearby coral islands. To the south of Pattaya is Jomtien beach; a three mile beach popular with windsurfing and watersports enthusiasts.
When to go
Pattaya is warm throughout the year, but the coolest period is from November to February when temperatures average 31°C. This is probably the best time to go as there is less rainfall than the rest of the year. March to May can be particularly hot with temperatures averaging 33°C. June to October is the rainy season, though it should be noted that while rainfall is often intense, it’s generally brief.
