Guide to Japan
Japan is a country of many contrasts, where the very latest in high-tech vies with age-old traditions. Experience the busy and bustling cities of Tokyo and Osaka, the traditional imperial city of Kyoto, iconic Mount Fuji and the beautiful countryside. It’s a delightful destination that’s full of surprises.
Getting there
Japan Airlines and ANA All Nippon Airways offer direct flights from the UK, linking with several Japanese cities. British Airways also have a daily scheduled service directly to Tokyo. Japan is also accessible via most major Asian cities. The flying time from the UK is approximately 11 hours.

Guide to the country

Discover the futuristic city of Tokyo and be prepared for a sensory bombardment with the sights and sounds of a destination like you’ve never seen before. Enjoy the picturesque Nikko, a World Heritage site renowned for Japan’s loveliest shrines. The town of Hakone is surrounded by countryside of peaks and lakes. Take a cable car for a great view of Mount Fuji. Kyoto, formerly the capital of Japan for 1000 years, is what most visitors imagine when they think of traditional Japan. This is a beautiful city of temples, geishas and gardens. Take a wander through Gion, a district of Kyoto; a historic part of the city, also known as the Geisha district. Visit historic Nara, once home to Japan’s emperors. Tour Hiroshima, with its memorial and peace museum. The island of Miyajima is beautiful and a great place to enjoy walks in the natural surroundings and traditional shopping. Try to visit Japan in spring for a chance to see the famous cherry blossom. Japan is famous for its high speed rail network. Experience the world-famous Bullet Train and Japan’s other services. The trains are fast, efficient and very clean. A Japan Rail Pass is offered in set durations from 7-21 days and can be purchased through us in advance. Please call for full details and prices.
